About Quentin Terpentino Genetics
My journey began in my youth when I first consumed cannabis. Even back then, I noticed the distinct difference between the effects of alcohol and cannabis – the effect of cannabis seemed clearer, more relaxed, and much more pleasant. Prohibition made no sense. The excessive alcohol consumption in Germany made even less sense. During this time, I was also the one in my group who regularly brought different genetics to our sessions and started to philosophize about the taste, effects, and benefits of the plant – long before I became familiar with terms like terpenes or the entourage effect.
Like many in my generation, I often had to deal with adulterated cannabis – glass, lead, sprays, Brix, and other unhealthy additives could frequently be found in the buds we bought. This led me early on to start growing my own plants, with the goal of producing clean, uncut flowers. My first attempt was a failure – a small setup under my neighbor's stairs, doomed from the start. But this setback was just the beginning for me. Over the next few years, cultivating became an on-and-off story. Professionally, I was searching for my purpose, completed an apprenticeship, studied twice, only to eventually take a different path. However, the following years kept bringing me back to my love for the plant.

In the mid-2010s, I decided to approach cannabis breeding more professionally. Working with plants, including other crops, fascinated me more and more, and bad experiences in my professional life made me realize that my true passion lays in cannabis breeding. I turned to technical literature and didn't rely on the often superficial forum opinions on the internet. "Trust me, Bro" was not for me. Jorge Cervantes, Greg Green, and Ed Rosenthal became my early mentors, and I studied scientific papers and lectures to develop a deeper understanding of the subject.
A turning point was the influence of Frenchy Cannoli and his teachings on the culture and origin of the plant. His philosophy about the art of hash-making, and especially the uniqueness of high-quality full melt iceolator, opened my eyes to the true depth and beauty of our plant. My journey eventually led me to Canada, where I gained not only a legal perspective on the cannabis industry but also knowledge of the highest cultivation and hygiene standards (GMPs). However, the legal market quickly turned out to be a disappointment, as the quality was not much better than ‘medical’ cannabis.

As my expertise in cultivation grew, so did my desire to breed truly high-quality cultivars. A formative experience was the effect of one of my genetics on an acquaintance with cancer, who, despite her advanced illness, was able to laugh and dance for the first time in years after taking my plant-based medication. This experience reinforced my decision to create cultivars that not only offer a high THC content but, above all, stand out with a balanced terpene profile and a healthy cannabinoid blend.
I don't breed genetics that are solely focused on maximum density/bag appeal and THC levels. Instead, I look for real, authentic plants that are based on old, proven genetics and enrich the consumer both in taste and medicinally. One of my personal favorites is Tangie, a reinvention of the legendary Tangerine Dream by Crockett, which you can find in my first official breeding line. All phenotypes are hand-selected. I place great value on quality and authenticity and have little regard for feminized or autoflowering seeds, as these are primarily driven by commercial hype.

For me, it's not just about breeding, but about the philosophy behind it. I see myself not only as a breeder but as part of a movement that stands for quality, culture, and responsibility. All of this drives me. Oh, and why Quentin Terpentino? I’m obviously a big Tarantino fan. From now on, we produce CannG-compliant in the EU abroad.
